About the Louisiana Scholastic Esports Federation (LASEF)

 

The Louisiana Scholastic Esports Federation (LASEF) is Louisiana’s official statewide organization dedicated to advancing scholastic esports, STEM education, and workforce development for K-12 students. Our mission is to create inclusive, structured, and meaningful esports opportunities that empower students academically, socially, and professionally—both in and beyond the game.

 

LASEF serves public, private, charter, and homeschool students across Louisiana by providing competitive leagues, live events, leadership development, and career-connected learning pathways through esports.

 

Our Mission

 

LASEF exists to use esports as a tool for education, engagement, and opportunity. We believe esports is more than gaming—it is a platform that builds communication, teamwork, problem-solving, digital citizenship, and real-world career skills for students at every level.

 

What We Do

 

🎮 Scholastic Esports Competitions

 

We organize and oversee local, regional, and statewide esports competitions, culminating in the LASEF State Championship. Students compete in structured, age-appropriate environments that emphasize sportsmanship, growth, and learning.

 

🧠 Education & Workforce Development

 

LASEF connects esports to STEM, IT, cybersecurity, broadcasting, event management, and digital media careers. Students gain hands-on experience running tournaments, managing networks, producing livestreams, and leading teams.

 

🏫 School & Community Programs

 

We partner with school districts, educators, libraries, community centers, and higher education institutions to help launch and sustain esports programs that are accessible, safe, and aligned with educational goals.

Our programs are designed to support students who may not otherwise participate in traditional extracurriculars—creating belonging, confidence, and pathways to success for learners of all backgrounds.
