After months of competition across the Baton Rouge area, the EBREL Playoffs have finally arrived.
What started with hundreds of student competitors across elementary, middle, and high schools has now narrowed down to the best of the best. Through a season filled with tournaments, rivalries, and breakout performances, only 16 players remain in each game.
Now the real battle begins.
Students will compete in three major titles as they fight for a spot in the EBREL Championship:🎮 Super Smash Bros. Ultimate🏎️ Mario Kart🏈 Madden 25
The stakes are simple.
16 players enter. Only 4 survive.
Those who advance will earn their place on the championship stage.
A Season of Competition
The road to the playoffs wasn’t easy.
Throughout the school year, students competed in a series of events that tested their skills and consistency:
EBREL Kickoff
Fall Brawl
Holiday Bash
Gerald Lawson Tournament
Each tournament brought new challengers and new champions. Some students dominated early events while others fought their way through the brackets later in the season.
But every player standing now has earned their place through performance.
Rocket League Teams Fight for the Final Championship Spots
While individual players battle through the playoff brackets, the final Rocket League team spots are still being decided.
Elementary and middle school teams will compete in a winner-take-all showdown to determine who advances to the championship.
Elementary School Rocket League Teams
Park Forest Elementary
Capitol Elementary
Middle School Rocket League Teams
Sherwood Middle School
Park Forest Middle School
Westdale Middle School
For these teams, the mission is clear.
Win — and move on to the championship.
Lose — and the season ends.
A League Built by Students
EBREL isn’t just about competition.
One of the most exciting parts of the league is how students run the show. Beyond the players competing on stage, students are also responsible for helping bring the events to life.
Across the season, students have stepped into roles such as:
🎙️ Shoutcasters and hosts🎥 Broadcast production crew🖥️ Tournament administrators📱 Media and marketing teams🛠️ Technical and event support
It’s part of the larger mission of the Louisiana Scholastic Esports Federation (LASEF) — using esports to help students develop real-world skills in technology, leadership, and digital media.

The playoffs bring together students from schools across the Baton Rouge area, including:

What Happens Next
The EBREL Playoffs take place March 7, 2026, at the EBPSS Esports arena where the region’s top competitors will battle live for their chance to advance.
Matches will be streamed live on Twitch, giving the community a chance to watch students compete, support their schools, and celebrate the growth of scholastic esports.
As the brackets tighten and the pressure builds, one thing is certain:
The competition will be intense.
Because when the playoffs begin…
Only the best will move on to the EBREL Championship.
